10/08/2020 by Geoff Fox

Do you have a mountain bike or can you borrow one from a friend for 4 hours?

Do you want to give this crazy sport called mountain biking a go but don’t know where to start? Do you need some basic knowledge, skills and confidence to get you pedalling?

Come and join us for our DORC Women’s Only Introduction to Mountain Biking (MTB) Course. There are 8 spots available. This course is free for all women who are members of DORC and MTBA and 16+ years

It’s worth paying your membership for insurance and all the cool events, skills courses and social rides you can take part in over the next year #beadorc #imadorc

Date: Sunday 30th August 2020

Time: 8.00 am – 12.00 pm

Location : Old Pine Forest, Howard Springs

You will need a bike in working order, helmet, covered shoes, gloves and water.

This course will provide you with the basics and covers such topics as:

  • Bike type and set up
  • Basic bike maintenance on the trail and what you should carry on the trails
  • Balance and Body Position on the bike (this will save you much heartache and improve your confidence immensely)

We can also discuss anything else mtb related that you are interested in finding out about and answer any questions you might have regarding mountain biking in our amazing local area. It will be a fun and informative few hours.

Hi Michelle. Thanks for the enquiry. We have a busy half year ahead so I am unable to commit to another women’s course at this point. I will see how I am going as the year progresses. Keep an eye on DORC social media for all upcoming courses and events. Cheers, Jo
