No doubt you will have enjoyed the recent very wet weather. After a few years, we have a proper wet season. We do ask riders, please respect the trails are closed at Casuarina Coastal Reserve (including Lee Point) and Charles Darwin National Park. All trails at these locations are closed until the weather clears, the trails dry, and the damage is repaired.
It’s frustrating to see some people ignoring the closed signs and still riding the trails. This results in more trail damage, and resulting in more time and energy to bring them back to the standard we all should enjoy.
We ask for your help in a few ways.
- Stop riding the wet and muddy trails
- If you see someone riding trails that are closed, or posting rides to social media, please remind them not to ride the trails.
- We will be calling for volunteers to prepare the trails for the upcoming dry season. Please consider helping. (Especially if you think it’s ok to ride when muddy)
Our best riding options currently are the Pine Forest trails, these have excellent drainage. Regardless, do no ride profoundly flooded or muddy sections.
All trail riders will thank you.
