Weekend Social Rides

20/03/2019 by Geoff Fox

Every Saturday afternoon DORC host a social mountain bike ride in different locations around the Darwin area. The aim is to bring all levels of riders together to enjoy our sport and trails in a friendly supportive environment. These rides can help familiarise you with our local trail networks and to help you meet other like-minded people.

This Saturday afternoon DORC will be holding the social ride at Lee Point.

We will be meeting at the Club Tropical Resort carpark on Lee Point Rd at 4:45 pm for a 5:00 pm start on Saturday 23rd Mar ’19.

All riders are invited and welcome to attend. The ride will be at a medium pace and there will be plenty of stops along the way to regroup. Duration will be approx 1.5 hours.

All you need is a MTB in good working order, helmet, gloves, enclosed shoes and any spares that you think you may require. A minimum of 2 litres of water is essential.

You do not need to be a DORC/MTBA member to participate in the social rides. However, for insurance purposes you will be required to show proof of membership or be prepaired to sign a waiver.

Hi there. We are new to Darwin and new to mountain biking – so new we are picking up mountain bikes on Saturday. We are keen for our boys to get involved, age 10 and14, would it be possible for them to attend your Sunday session? As we don’t know the area and any routes Husband and I would be more than happy to ride at the rear if this is possible and something you allow? Look forward to hearing from you.
