Trail Maintenance Charles Darwin National Park Saturday 3 Oct.

28/09/2020 by Ian

Calling for volunteers to help with keeping our trails in top condition. If you’re free, even if it’s only for 20 minutes, all help is appreciated.

We’re going to be working at Charles Darwin National Park, clearing debris and ensuring trails are set for the soon-to-come rains of the wet season.

Meet: Picnic Area/Lookout, Charles Darwin National Park.
Time: 7.30am Saturday 3rd October.  Whilst the weather is still cool(er)

Bring: Sturdy shoes, Sunscreen, Hat, Water.  Insect repellent.

If you have secateurs or a rake, please bring them.  If you don’t, please come anyway, we have some club equipment available to use.

Please consider volunteering your time.  Volunteers are the lifeblood of any community group, Darwin Off-Road Cyclists are no different.  The more volunteers contribute, the greater the benefit to everyone.

Trails in Casuarina Coastal Reserve and Charles Darwin National Park are managed as part of a Memorandum of Understanding between Darwin Off-Road Cyclists and Northern Territory Parks and Wildlife.  The Memorandum of Understanding describes an agreement of roles and responsibilities between DORC and NTP&W, and covers issues such as construction, maintenance, feedback and funding.  In essence, this agreement provides the foundation that allows Mountain Bike trails in our National Parklands.

If you want to know more, get in touch with us, via feedback on this page, or Contact DORC.

I had to block 2 motorcycles on Wirraway trail on Sunday 27th @ 4:30pm from moving forward the conversation was direct but commonsense kicked in and they both apologised and left the park by sealed road

As for track maintenance maybe consider a roster for a Sunday moving forward.
