Spokes NT 100km – 2014

Darwin Off Road Cyclists. Race meeting 25 March 2012.The Spokes NT 100km is our next event, for Sunday 13 July

Held at Charles Darwin National Park, it’s 6 laps of a 16.7 km course.

Ride as few or as many laps as you like, or form a team to share the fun.

Race HQ this year will be in the main picnic area at Charles Darwin National Park

 

When:  Sunday 13 July
Register:     6am  (Save money and time by pre-registering online)
There’s spot prizes for registering online
Race Start:  7am
Where:  Charles Darwin National Park
Difficulty: Easy to intermediate

Entry Fees

DORC / MTBA / CA members:
$5 online pre-registration via MTBA site (including payment by credit card)
$10 registration on race day.

NON-DORC Members:
$30  $25  online pre-registration
$35 Race day registration
(Fees cover race entry + day licence/MTBA insurance)

Riders registering online are still required to sign in and collect race numbers from registration on race day.

Junior training rides: Gold coin donation.

Regulations and Rules:

Riders should carry puncture repair kits, water, mobile phone(with first aid numbers) and food with them whilst riding. A helmet must be worn at all times whilst riding. It is also advisable to have gloves and eye protection as well.

At any time a competitors comes across a fellow rider needing assistance you shall render any assistance that is required.

You may finish on any lap. If you decide to finish prior to the full race distance, please tell the timing people that you have finished.

Schedule:

Sunday, 13th July 2014

5:30 (am) Charles Darwin National Park Gates open
6:00 Registration opens (if ever there was a time that online registration is a good idea, surely this is it)
6:45 Registration Closes (see note below regarding late registrations)
6:50 Rider Briefing
7:00 Race start all riders

Late Registrations: Registrations will close at 6:45 to allow officials to prepare the race briefing and timing systems.  Following the race start, registrations will re-open for riders wishing to register after 7am

Presentations:Prizes will be give out at random to some lucky participants of the race. So if you finish early please hang around, as you may be a winner. The winners will have bragging rights!

BBQ will be running while the race is running and drinks will be available as well.

Car parking:

Car parking will be at the main picnic area at Charles Darwin National Park.  Overflow areas will be at the bunkers where the road splits into a 1-way system

Helping hands are always welcome at our events, assistance at race control with registration and timekeeping, or help with the bbq.  It’s volunteer help that makes the event possible, and turns it from an average to great event.
