Intermediate Level Ride
Pump House Trail CDNP
Due to changes with AusCycling policy, DORC is no longer able to offer non members the option of signing an insurance waiver to join our weekly social rides. Therefore, you must be a member of AusCycling to participate. DORC apologises for any inconvience this may cause. We are working to resolve this issue. Every Saturday afternoon DORC host a social mountain bike ride in different locations around the Darwin area. The aim of these rides is to bring all level riders together to enjoy our sport and trails in a friendly, supportive environment. These rides can help familiarise you with our local trail networks. They are also a great opportunity to meet other like-minded people.
This Saturday 2nd Oct 2021 the social ride will be held at an intermediate level on the Pump House trail in Charles Darwin National Park. For this ride, we will be meeting just inside the main gates of Charles Darwin National Park. Please arrive at 4:45pm for a 5:00pm start.
Please be aware that this ride is for INTERMEDIATE level riders and above. This means that the pace will be faster and the trails will be more difficult than our usual Saturday social ride. The Pump House trail is one of the harder trails in CDNP and is comprised of blue and black sections of trail. DORC does not run this level of ride very often so we would ask that If you are not up to riding at a faster pace, on a harder trail, please sit this one out and keep an eye out for next week’s social ride.
Upon completion of the ride we will head back to the One Mile Brewery for some post ride rehydration.
Charles Darwin NP is well known for it’s biting insects, so please remember to cover up or use an insect repellant.
As part of our COVID-19 plan we are required to collect names and phone numbers of everyone participating in our events. These will be used for contact tracing in the unlikely event that an outbreak does occur.
