On behalf of the NT Parks and Wildlife Service, DirtArt will be constructing new mountain bike trails in the Casuarina Coastal Reserve. With the construction work starting today (6/6/2016) the work is scheduled to be completed over the next six weeks.
The new trails are being designed to stay clear of the existing trail network, however at certain locations they will cross some of the existing tracks. Due to this parts of the existing trail network may be temporarily closed during the construction phase. If you are riding in the area please obey any trail closure notifications for both the existing and any new trails.
DORC will advise when the new trails have been completed and are officially opened.

The following map shows both the existing tracks (black) and the proposed tracks to be built by DirtArt. During this phase of the construction only the trails marked 1-4 (to the north) are being constructed. Note the map is only a concept, and the exact location may change based on site inspection this week.

It also appears that NT Parks and Wildlife will being upgrading the walking track which links Dripstone Cliff, the Hospital and Lee Point (the Super Highway). Please ride carefully in this area and again obey any track closure notifications.
Hi Trevor
this looks good – keeping but then adding to the existing trails – this looks like a lot of tracks that are going in – it will be a MTB mecca for the northern suburbs and other riders.
Do you know how much track is going in and when it is planned to be done/
It looks great
Ross
Hi Ross,
Only the first four tracks are scheduled to be completed during this phase, not sure of the total Km’s though. The map is only a concept of where the trails will roughly be. At the moment they have started on Track 2 (purple).
DORC doesn’t have any information about when the next 3 (5-7) will be built.
Cheers
Trevor
