Geoff Has been busy creating some tracks he’d like to share. This ones going to be fairly technical with some steep pinches to climb and some rocky descents. Approx 25km Ride 2.5-3 hours expected Ride time. Aimed at at the more experienced rider. Meet at 260 Trippe Road Humpty Doo. BYO drinks for after the ride.
Attention ladies!! We are due to hold the June monthly ladies ride.
This time the ride will be aimed at the intermediate lady rider and will traverse some of the more technical trails at Lee Point.
Francene will be leading the ride.
Where: Meet at the Rapid Creek foot bridge.
When: Saturday 24th June, 4.30pm
Who: ladies who are comfortable riding MTB over rooty bits and uppy downy bits.
I can’t promise it, but I reckon there might be a cold drink at the Surf Life Saving Club afterwards.
Please ensure you bring water and spares. I also recommend a few dollars for a drink and if you plan to be out late lights to ride home.
You do not need to be a DORC member to attend social rides. But we highly recommend becoming a member! The benefits can be found here…
Hi ladies, Jo Fox will be hosting a preview ride of the Cycle Zone 3 Hour race circuit on Saturday 20th May at 4pm.
She will be meeting riders on the corner of Howard Springs Road across from the Nature Park entrance at 4pm for a 4.15pm start.
The track is approximately a 6km loop and Jo will also show you how to access the race parking. The ride should take about 1 & 1/2 hours.
This ride is for ladies only who are planning on attending the race. It will be a no drop ride and suitable for all levels.
Please ensure you have spares, helmet and water.

This Saturday the 13th of May at 5:00, Keogh will be leading a social ride around the course for the Cycle Zone Darwin 3 hour race to be held on the 27th of May (Registration will be opening shortly)
This will be a social ride so there will be plenty of chances to stop and catch your breath and have a drink ,Ride starts at the corner of Howard Springs and Gunn Point rd at the New Pine Forest (The Old Shed)
Helmets a must, and enough water to last you around 2 hours, pump and spares recommended.
Ride distance will be around the 15-20km mark this will entail 2 laps around the race course and a bit of riding around some of the other trails, any questions please feel free to ring Keogh on 0428821360
Our regular monthly ladies rides are starting up for the year now that this beautiful weather has arrived!
To start, we will be hosting a beginner friendly, no drop ride at Howard Springs Pine Forest.
This ride is suitable for riders of any level and ability. It will be as technical and speedy as you like. There will be plenty of stopping to catch up, support for those riders that want to try new skills, advice on bike set up for those who want it, and a fun ride with like minded female riders on the long weekend. Who wouldn’t want to come??

Racing returns to the original pine forest trails to kick the 2017 season off. Come on down and join in the fun for the first DORC race of the year, do as many or as few laps as you like in 2 hours, we ain’t racing for sheep stations, just bragging rights amongst your friends!! W’eve got a few categories for this event, Open Men-for the faster guys typically finishing in the first half of the field, Sports Men-for those in the remaining half, Open Womens-only one category currently for the womens as attendance is typically lower (come on ladies! Get some friends involved, lets grow this segment) and we’ve got a pairs category for the juniors under 18. For those juniors who wish to tackle the event solo just enter the respective category ie Open Mens or Womens, Sports Mens.
BBQ and Refreshments available throughout the race and after the race as well. Spot prizes provided by our local bike shops. Race registration is online only click HERE FOR ENTRY. Race entry closes 25th March at midnight. No entries will be accepted on the day. Competitors must have a helmet, water and food to get you through the race.

The Old Pine Forest is located on Howard Springs Road. Turn off the Stuart Highway and head straight down until you see the event centre on your left.
Geoff Fox will be leading a tour of his trail network Sunday afternoon. Ride will be approximately 20km long. It is quite rocky out there so you will need good technical skills to navigate some sections. Bring with you enough drinking water for 2 hours, spare tube and tools. Helmets are mandatory. Ride starts at 4 PM from 260 Trippe Road Humpty Doo. BYO post ride refreshments.
This week meet at the Palmerston Water Tower at 6.30pm for a 6.45pm get away. The plan is to ride the full spokes track, 17 mile WWII track, Mitchell Creek and back to the Palmy Tavern via the escarpment track.
Helmets, water, spares and good quality lights are required.
This week Geoff Fox will lead the ride. Ride will start from the Palmerston water tower at 6.30pm, heading out to Howard Springs via the Spokes Track and return. Roughly 30km return journey. The Spokes Track has some intermediate sections, so please ride with caution if you are unfamiliar with the trail. The ride will have plenty of stops allowing people to regroup, have a drinks and a chat.
Please ensure that you have mtb specific lights, helmet, water and some drinking tokens for the Palmy Tavern following the ride.

A little change this week, with the ride running on Thursday night. Meet at the Precinct, Waterfront for a 6.30pm get away. We’ll ride up along the esplanade, down through Doctors Gully, out to East Point and back to the Waterfront.
