DORC Enduro mini series

Enduro in its most basic definition is a type of race where the downhills are timed (the fun stuff) and the uphills are not. Riders are timed in stages that are primarily downhill, with neutral “transfer” stages in between. The lowest overall time after all race stages wins.

This event will be held over two days, with the lowest overall combined time taking the win.

Day 1-23/6/2018
Lee Point trails. 7 race stages in total. Meet at 330pm, Racing starts 4 PM Sharp, across the road from the Caravan park on Lee Point road. Tracy Village after for a meal and drinks.

Day 2-30/6/2018
Berrimah Hill. 6 race stages in total. Meet at 330pm behind the fire station on Berrimah road, racing starts at 4 PM sharp. Presentations will be held at the One Mile Brewery in Winnellie. They generally have a food vendor parked there on Saturday evenings.

If you want an idea of what the race stages will be, come along to the social rides leading up to the race.
Lee Point dates are 5th, 7th, 12th and 14th of June. Rides start all dates at 545 pm across from the caravan park.

Berrimah dates will be 19th, 21st, 26th and 28th of June. Rides start all dates at 545 pm from behind the fire station on Berrimah road.

Positions are strictly limited for this race 20 positions per category. Open men’s (Expert) and Sports men’s. Open Women’s (come on ladies) and Juniors (12-18). Juniors can race up a category please contact organiser if you’d like to do this.

Cyclezone 3 Hour-26/5/2018

Time to dust off your bike, and get ready for Darwin’s biggest MTB event!!

The Cycle Zone three hour is DORC’s most popular event, a day/night race in the new Howard Springs Pine Forest. PARKING AND COURSE MAP HERE

The track is easy, and the riding is fun.  If you haven’t done a DORC race before, this is the time to start, ride for 1, 2 or 3 hours. Ride as many, or as few laps as you like, or form a team of 2 or 3 to share the load and rip some fast laps!!

Course distance of 8.7 Km. Very achievable for all levels of riders and a great fun flowing course.

NON-DORCMembers: $30  (Covers race entry + day license/MTBA insurance)

Regulations and Rules:

Riders should carry puncture repair kits, water, mobile phone(with first aid numbers) and food with them whilst riding. Helmet must be worn at all times whilst riding. It is also advisable to have gloves and eye protection as well.

Front white light are required to be carried after 18:00, it must be of an intensity that enables the rider to safely ride at night. A rear red light is to be carried, preferable non – flashing.

At any time a competitors comes across a fellow rider needing assistance you shall render any assistance that is required.

Cut Off:

Riders will not be permitted to go out on the course after 18:00 without front and rear lights. Riders will be permitted to go out on a final lap at any time before 19:15.

The ride is a 3-hr, but you may finish the prior to the two-hour mark. If you decide to finish prior to the two hours, please tell the timing people that you have finished, sign off and return your race number.

BBQ will be running while the race is running and drinks will be available as well.

Car parking:

Event hub will be in the pine forest this year. Follow Howard Springs road until it turns into Old Gunn Point road, then turn RIGHT into the forest.  There will be sign to mark it.

Helping hands are always welcome at our events, assistance at race control with registration and timekeeping, or help with the bbq.  It’s volunteer help that makes the event possible, and turns it from an average to great event. Blue Cycles Lee Point Pairs Race 22/4/2018

Who is ready for some good fun trail bashing around Lee Point? Grab a mate and team up. Bit like me and got no mates? Well worry not and enter as “Mystery-Partner please” we will then pair you up.  Course will be approximately 5km long, it will be ran on the same course as the Monsoon Madness race. Don’t worry though, the temperature has been adjusted for this race!!!

The format is each rider will complete 4 laps each for a total of 8, Lowest overall time wins. Categories are as follows Mens, Womens and Mixed. Entry fee is $10 per team and each rider must be a MTBA/DORC member. Day licences are available.

Monsoon Madness-Results

Thanks to all who were involved with setting this up. Who enjoyed the new section? Special thanks to the team at NTRS for providing a bin for us to get rid of some building rubble that was dumped illegally at the start area!! Thanks to the machine operator for loading the bin. I wont mention who it was as it was a covert mission!!! Much appreciated.

The last one for the year! Build up got you fuming? Come and release some of that steam at the Monsoon Madness race at Lee Point.

Course will be approximately 5km long and the format is each team member will complete 3 laps each in a relay style. This Sunday (9/7) coming up is the Spokes NT Charles Darwin Challenge. Event details  and how to enter can be found HERE. With plenty of options to choose from in terms of distance there is something to cater for the novice through to the expert. Just Coffee will be set up there in the morning pouring brews to give you that kick start you need to rip out  some hot laps!!! Help us out in catering for this event by getting your registrations done before Friday!!

Spokes NT Charles Darwin Challenge 9/7/2017


Options Galore! Tackle the 13km course solo in your distance of choice. 2,4 or 6 lap options (26/52/78 km) . Or make a day of it with mates and make a team up up of 2 or 3 people to tackle the distance of your choice.

78 Km racers will start at 7 Am (solo and teams) With remaining categories starting at 8 AM. Number plate collection open from 6 AM.

Ladies Preview Ride

Hi ladies, Jo Fox will be hosting a preview ride of the Cycle Zone 3 Hour race circuit on Saturday 20th May at 4pm.

She will be meeting riders on the corner of Howard Springs Road across from the Nature Park entrance at 4pm for a 4.15pm start.

The track is approximately a 6km loop and Jo will also show you how to access the race parking. The ride should take about 1 & 1/2 hours.

This ride is for ladies only who are planning on attending the race. It will be a no drop ride and suitable for all levels.

Please ensure you have spares, helmet and water.
