About DORC

Darwin Off-Road Cyclists were formed in 2006 by a group of enthusiastic mountain bikers in the Darwin area.

1st DORC AGM

We conduct group rides, races and training for interested riders and cater for skills ranging from beginner to advanced.

Why Join DORC?

Are you concerned about finding interesting places to ride? Are you looking for someone to ride with?

DORC is your regional lobby group ensuring access to and maintenance of trails such as those found at Lee Point, Charles Darwin and Howard Springs.

Support the club that supports you.

The club is family-friendly and offers a variety of competitive and social activities for riders of all ages and abilities. Being part of DORC is a great way to meet fellow riders, explore the trails and improve your riding skills.

If you’re wearing gloves and a helmet, you’ve got two essentials covered. The third coverage you should consider is insurance. Your membership automatically enrols you as a member of MTBA, which covers your insurance when you’re involved in organised events such as races and social rides. It also provides some cover at all times on the bike – even when you’re training alone.

A pretty good deal for around 30 cents a day.

Each year DORC hosts exciting racing events, including the traditional 2 hour, 3 hour, and 100km events as well as the Bark Hut weekend, some short course races and the new DORC 6 hour event.

Entry into these races will be by gold coin donation for members but you will require a $20 day licence for each event if you are not a member. Mountain biking can be an expensive hobby. Of course you’ll save a lot of money on day licences by becoming a member. In addition, there are specialist bike shops in the NT will give a 5% to 10% discount on some items to DORC members on presentation of their rider’s licence.
